An answer from within

So you all know that I have in the past suffered from depression, right? Today I saw my doctor and got a diagnosis for the brain problems I've been having for the last 4 months - I have pretty bad anxiety to the point at which I have been physically unable to function quite often. So I'm going to deal with my anxiety by finding beauty in small things, enjoying life, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Hopefully I'll also stop whining about having a headache soon too!

And now, something more cheery - a blog about photos:
I live in a beautiful part of the world. I mean, if you ignore the coffee factory in Hayes, the pollution and noise of Heathrow, and the fact we're squeezed in between 3 motorways that is. The best thing about where I live is obvious: The Grand Union Canal, a man made waterway  that passes practically by my front door and easily deposits me at most of the places I habitually walk to.

So here are some photos that I hope roughly show what I mean. They were taken on my crappy camera phone, but it was a beautiful morning and I didn't want to miss the opportunity.
 The bridge nearest my flat.
Looking back towards the Slough branch.
 Sound Advice.
 Lock Keeper's cottage.
 A sensible precaution.

A perfect day for boating.

Good on you for getting it sorted out! CBT is the shizz, and anxiety is the worst. I hope you're coping better really soon. Talk to you more about this when we're back at Christmas, OK?

Your pictures are beautiful. I have to say, I do like the coffee factory! I'm always the one pressing my face against the glass whenever the train goes through an industrial area. The first picture with the bridge might be my favourite, or perhaps the one with the lock keeper's cottage. It's also great that you live near a pub called the Malt Shovel.

When I worked in Heston I used to ride into London along the canal bank. If you take the branch at Bulls Bridge in Southall it takes you right into Little Venice after a 13 mile ride. It's amazing what you see along the canal too.
